The sun shone too bright<\/p>\n
it was too hot to play<\/p>\n
so we sat in our house<\/p>\n
on that hot humid day<\/p>\n
I sat there with Jojo<\/p>\n
and Roni and his toy flute<\/p>\n
and I said , how i wish<\/p>\n
we had something else cute<\/p>\n
It’s too hot to go out<\/p>\n
too humid to walk<\/p>\n
so we sat in the house<\/p>\n
and made small talk<\/p>\n
so all we could do was to sit!<\/p>\n
sit!<\/p>\n
sit!<\/p>\n
and we did not like it one little bit<\/p>\n
And then Mummy said<\/p>\n
lets go for a walk<\/p>\n
we can visit the pet shop<\/p>\n
and hear the birds talk<\/p>\n
so we put Roni in his buggy<\/p>\n
and walked up the street<\/p>\n
we knew it was worth<\/p>\n
putting up with the heat<\/p>\n
And so when we arrived<\/p>\n
we saw pets galore<\/p>\n
fishies and birds<\/p>\n
and hamsters and more<\/p>\n
and so we asked Jojo<\/p>\n
which one would you like?<\/p>\n
and he thought for a moment<\/p>\n
and said “A choc ice!”<\/p>\n
“No, no” I explained<\/p>\n
were not buying those today<\/p>\n
we’re here for a pet<\/p>\n
that will be here to stay<\/p>\n
So I showed him the hamsters<\/p>\n
born just 3 weeks ago<\/p>\n
and he chose two brothers<\/p>\n
still tiny, room to grow<\/p>\n
we took them home in their cage<\/p>\n
and watched them settle in<\/p>\n
but what should we call them?<\/p>\n
and will they fit in?<\/p>\n
Then Daddy held them<\/p>\n
and said “How do you do”?<\/p>\n
I think we should call them<\/p>\n
Thing One and Thing Two<\/p>\n
“Good plan” said I, we shall name them that<\/p>\n
“Does this not remind you of the Cat in the Hat?”<\/p>\n
And so we set up their home<\/p>\n
with a roll from the loo<\/p>\n
and we put in some bedding<\/p>\n
for Thing One and Thing Two<\/p>\n
and Jojo and Roni<\/p>\n
were screeching at the fun<\/p>\n
as they sat there watching Thing Two and Thing One<\/p>\n
And then we skyped Savta<\/p>\n
Who said “What did you do”<\/p>\n
Should we tell her, d’you think<\/p>\n
of Thing One and Thing Two?<\/p>\n
And so Jojo told her<\/p>\n
what went on that day<\/p>\n
and he said how he loved<\/p>\n
