Excuse me if this is not a long post but this hot computer is going to boil my foetus.\u00a0 So after our disastrous attempt to get a decent mobile phone deal at the aliyah fair, we try a few places.\u00a0 They all seem to be the same, we think there is some price-fixing going on.\u00a0 Buyer beware \u2013 these prices are nuts!! I actually asked the guy from Pelefone how the average Israeli affords to talk on their phone.\u00a0 Presumably they must be talking instead of eating??? \u201cYes, he nods at me, that is what\u2019s happening.\u201d I don\u2019t believe that for a minute.\u00a0 Somebody somewhere is BSing.\u00a0 There is no way these Israelis spend more on their phones than their weekly shopping bill.<\/p>\n
The country is really struggling with the sharav.\u00a0 Even the mall was hot.\u00a0 I was almost dying in a restaurant when a pregnant woman walked in and demanded they turn up the air con.\u00a0 God bless her.\u00a0 Israelis are a funny breed though, the women don\u2019t seem to have a problem wearing Jeans and nylon in 37 degree heat, even the Russians.\u00a0 It\u2019s a shame about the Russian women, lots of them are really attractive and often they wear a nice outfit \u2013 with just one thing <\/em>that sends it into the realm of, well sluttiness really.\u00a0 Too much leopard skin here, too high heels there or a bit of unnecessary tattoo.\u00a0 It\u2019s really bizarre how they always seem to manage it.<\/p>\n We meet a nice (older) English couple in the mall who made aliyah here 11 years ago.\u00a0 Lovely people but can\u2019t speak a word of Hebrew \u2013 and it doesn\u2019t seem to bother them!
