Number of Cockroach Sightings:\u00a03 <\/strong>(1 in kitchen,\u00a01 baby\u00a0killed by husband and\u00a0the third husband found on bathroom towel again <\/em>and squelched it whilst screaming blue murder.\u00a0 Apparently it was really really <\/em>big, like 10 inches long.\u00a0 Hmmm.)<\/p>\n

Number of Burekas Consumed: 0 <\/strong>(feeling very smug)<\/p>\n

One of the side-effects of pregnancy is popping to the toilet more often, sometimes every time one stands up.\u00a0 As we have been travelling around town I am now proud to announce that I have been to about 90% of the toilets here, and so far I have been quite impressed.\u00a0 They say you can tell a lot about a man from his shoes (scuffed and in need of a polish = doesn’t take much personal pride, no longer living with mother, possibly an academic.\u00a0 Polished and gleaming\u00a0= woman’s man, charming, likely to be non-committal. You get the general idea….) well I think you can tell a lot about a town from it’s toilets.\u00a0 Compared to what I have experienced in, say, Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, this is worth a mention.\u00a0 I have also been pleased with the relaxed attitude here to my wandering in to use them, although that’s probably because of my giant bump so don’t hold me to that.<\/p>\n

Here is a summary using the classic hotel\u00a0star system, although please note 5 stars does not <\/em>indicate a swimming pool in this instance:<\/p>\n

Toilets in the Iria (town hall) up by the Park Hamishpacha:\u00a0**** Surprisingly clean, though not glamourous.\u00a0 Bit dark.<\/p>\n

Toilets in Clalit: **** really clean, well attended too.\u00a0 There is another one especially for mummy’s which I have recently noticed but not yet had a chance to rate.<\/p>\n

Toilets at the outdoor swimming pool in the dromit:\u00a0 * Bit grimy.\u00a0 Wouldn’t recommend unless fairly desperate.<\/p>\n

Toilets in Park Hamishpacha: *** really\u00a0impressive when you consider it’s a public park.\u00a0 Fairly clean, no smell and unlike most park toilets, there was actually plenty of bog roll.<\/p>\n

Toilets in the Canyon Hachadashah: ** Ok, big dingy, not so clean, but to be expected really.<\/p>\n

Toilets in Shipudei Hatikva meat restaurant:\u00a0 **** Very nice, plenty of room for\u00a0parent and\u00a0toddler.<\/p>\n

Toilets in the Misrad Haklitah:\u00a0 **** Very clean when you consider it’s a public building.\u00a0 Always a woman in there with a broom which is encouraging.<\/p>\n

Toilets in Greg Cafe, Big Shopping Area:\u00a0 *****\u00a0Spotless.\u00a0\u00a0Beautiful decor.\u00a0 Cleaned every half hour as I was reliably informed but a very <\/em>dodgy bloke there who gave me his number “should I require any cleaning after I have the baby”.\u00a0\u00a0 I said I would think about it and he took my arm and asked when I would be calling him.\u00a0 Good grief.<\/p>\n

Toilets inside Big shopping mall: **** not the best decor but clean enough.<\/p>\n

Toilet in the Dekel Tivuch (dekel estate agent):\u00a0 ** Bloody boiling in there.\u00a0 No air and a sunny window.\u00a0 Almost died of heatstroke.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Single Toilet round the back of Rabin bakery (not the one near the bus stop, the other one):\u00a0 *\u00a0 Needs a clean, dodgy hand towel (could have been unwashed for weeks), bit of a whiff, though not too<\/em> bad considering it’s a bakery and not a restuarant.\u00a0 Avoid avoid.<\/p>\n

Single Toilet in milky restaurant and “bar” on the midrachov, (I forget name of place):\u00a0** Bit cramped.\u00a0\u00a0Not so\u00a0clean.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Single Toilet at Sushi Place in “The Big”:\u00a0 ***** Absolutely incredible.\u00a0 Spotless, white & gleaming, fresh scent and beautiful flowers to admire whilst you relax.<\/p>\n
