Jojo’s First Sports Chug [activity]
As any BAnik will tell you, no activity is worth its salt unless it involves other people and a circle. So at some point, every Israeli kid enters the world of chugim. We decided to start him off with a simple sports chug on our yeshuv.
This was a big moment for Jojo, as he has never been to anything like this on his own [i.e. sans mummy] but he was very keen. Ran off to the basketball court straight away, I hardly saw him for dust. Anyway, I am now Very Proud Mummy as he seemed to really enjoy himself and contrary to popular israeli opinion, is not completely lacking in social skills despite not going to gan from babyhood. Although he did get slightly distracted by planes flying overhead. Let’s hope he has inherited his sportiness from mummy’s side… [hopefully Husband is too tired to notice that line]. Interestingly, he seemed to understand quite a bit of ivrit, which seems to support all the home-schooling arguments – that children do absorb knowledge, somehow. Even when we don’t formally give it to them!
Anyway, he asked if he could go again tomorrow so that’s a good sign. I said he would have to wait another week [remember how long that seemed when you were three?] And thankfully he is too young to be embarrassed by mummy photographing him enthusiastically from the sidelines. [see pics]
